Studying Psychology at Swansea will give you expert scientific training in the relationship between the mind, brain, and behaviour, opening doors to a wide range opportunities for continued learning and fulfilling careers.

Studying the psychological and neuro-scientific processes that underpin activities such as thinking, reasoning, memory and language, allows us to learn about the effects of brain injury and explore ways to improve health-related behaviour.

With opportunities to combine your studies with criminology, education or sociology, plus an extensive range of optional modules, you can tailor your studies to your particular interests, career goals, or ambitions for post-graduate study.

Vismaya Kulkarni, who studies MSc Clinical Psychology and Mental Health explains:

“My favourite thing about my course is the way the modules are categorised, with whole modules dedicated to different disorders and therapies. I truly enjoy learning about all of them in the most detailed way possible. My course has pushed me to go beyond what I’ve learnt theoretically and apply the knowledge practically. It’s also helped me acquire and develop transferable skills like patience and consistency.”

There’s also the option to upgrade to degrees with a Year Abroad where you’ll spend your third year broadening your skills and experience at one of our partner universities in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland and the United States.

BSc Psychology student Kate Miller studied abroad in Texas:

“I really loved the city of Austin. There was so much to do and there was a fantastic happy vibe. The best thing about my experience of studying abroad was the feeling of being completely independent. There was something about being in a new place, miles away from your comfort zone that was extremely rewarding.”
