The German Embassy Career Fair provides a unique opportunity for students and graduates

• to meet representatives of German companies as well as British companies with important
  business links to German speaking countries,
• to discuss employment opportunities at these companies,
• to hear about the importance of German language skills in a career context.

The  next Society of Biology Life Sciences Careers Conference will be held at the University of Westminster on Thursday 1st March 2012.

The Life Sciences Careers Conferences are aimed at undergraduates and recent graduates.  They include presentations on a wide range of science-related careers, a CV workshop with tips on how to secure an interview for your perfect job, a chance to meet employers and find out about their organisations  and the opportunity to mingle with the experts and ask questions over lunch and afternoon refreshments.

A Renewable Energy Careers Fair takes place on October 27th in Manchester as part of the annual national RenewableUk conference. The careers event is aimed at postgraduates, graduates, students, researchers and academics in the engineering, energy and renewable energy and sustainability faculties.

The careers fair is free but attendees do need to register in advance via the web site at http://www.renewable-uk.com/events/annual-conference/programme.html#PO.

The careers fair is organized and run by RenewableUK, the trade body for the renewable energy sector and with over 77,000 jobs forecast to be created in this sector over the next ten years it is a strong growth industry.

Over 40 companies will be attending and recruiting at the careers event, where training opportunities will also be promoted, and of course there will be opportunities for networking with delegates and over 300 exhibitors.

This event is being organised in association with Campus Catering.

Our annual Careers Fair is an opportunity for you to find out more about the career you wish to follow.  It is your chance to meet employers face-to-face and gain information by asking them questions.  It would be a good idea to do some preparation in order to make the most of the day:

• Research the employers you wish to speak with,
  and think about the questions you would like to ask them
• Update your CV – you will also be able to have your CV checked at one of our drop-in sessions on the day
• Be open-minded – you will meet employers whom you may never have considered.

This year over 40 organisations will be promoting a range of careers, further study options and gap year travel, and our professional careers advisors will be on hand throughout the day.

The Institute of Physics will be hosting a series of careers events this autumn, giving you the opportunity to:

• find out more about the career opportunities in a particular organisation;
• talk one-to-one with employers;
• get advice and information about interviews and assessment centres.
